Trackhouse Racing Co-owner on Ross Chastain’s NASCAR Win at Talladega: “This Is Way Easier Than I Thought”
NASCAR was at Alabama for the tenth round of the Cup Series. A frantic final moment saw Ross Chastain cross the finish line before anyone else at Talladega Superspeedway. The Trackhouse Racing driver used his brilliance to come through from the chaotic final moments at the oval circuit.
This was NASCAR’s first visit to the largest track of the sport this year. While the 2.66-mile racing track is all about the finish line, Trackhouse Racing saw its driver pick up the second win of the season.
Talking about this, Justin Marks, the owner of Trackhouse Racing conveyed to Jenna Fryer, an AP news reporter, “This is way easier than I thought it was going to be!…. I’m kidding.’”

How did Ross Chastain pull off the stunner?
The race unfolded with last time’s winner at Talladega Bubba Wallace’s first stage win. The 23XI driver seemed to be in a different mode when he took the first stage. However, in the second stage, it was all about Hendrick Motorsports’s William Byron.

William Byron took the second stage win ahead of his teammate at Hendrick Motorsports, Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott. However, none of the stage winners could make amends in the end as Bubba slumped to 17th, while Byron finished his race in 15th position.

Erik Jones was leading the race ahead of Kyle Larson. Ross took the lead just when Erik moved away to cover Kyle from taking the lead. After the win, Chastain did his signature celebration by getting on top of his car smashed watermelon. This was the second win this season for Ross and his team as the Trackhouse Racing driver picked up his first win at COTA, Austin last month.
