Wimbledon has been on the news for the last week or so regarding the controversy surrounding the ban of Russian and Belarusian players. Novak Djokovic is all set to play at Wimbledon

Earlier, there were already a few speculations regarding lifting the covid restrictions. Now, they have made the announcement that no vaccination will be necessary for players to play at this year’s Wimbledon. This news will make the current world no.1, Novak Djokovic, and his camp massively happy, as he was pretty uncertain about participating in this year’s Championships.

Now, Novak is all set to play both the French Open and the Wimbledon. Earlier, it looked pretty impossible for the Serb to play in any Grand Slam tournaments after the Australian Open snub. However, after the French government changed the rule regarding covid vaccination, it was certain that Wimbledon will also do the same. Now, it’s up to Djokovic to use this opportunity to win a few Grand Slam tournaments.

Djokovic had a terrible season so far

Even though Djokovic received the good news about participating in Wimbledon, his current form will worry him a little bit. After leaving the Australian Open, he only played three tournaments this year and those are the Dubai Open, Monte Carlo Masters, and the Serbian Open. His performance was pretty dreadful in the first two tournaments. However, he bounced back at the Serbian Open by reaching the final of the tournament.

Although he lost the final against Andrey Rublev, he looked happy with his performance. In his mind, he is progressing slowly to achieve full fitness for the Grand Slam tournaments. Meanwhile, he’s all set to take part in the Madrid Open and the Italian Open before the French Open. Safe to say, these two tournaments will be crucial for him to get some information about his current form before the French Open starts in May.

If he gets his form back, it will be hard for anyone to stop him from winning the next two Grand Slam tournaments.

Can Novak win both Wimbledon and the French Open? Let us know in the comments.
