“Channel Your Inner Bottas, Not Tsunoda” – Canadian Police Departments’ Hysterical F1 References to Promote Road Safety

Police departments have come a long way when it comes to informing citizens about things. From celebrity videos to quoting F1 references, their ways of marketing safety have upgraded.

Recently, RCMP Alberta took the F1 way of promoting road safety- “Channel your inner Bottas—not Tsunoda”. Honestly, we’re impressed with the way this reference is being used to help out society.

As a kid, we’re sure many must have seen those fun signboards across a road. They state what to do and what not to do, and most of the times with humor. But somehow, road accidents are still prevalent and no one’s to blame for that. So, new ideas for promoting any kind of safety are becoming intense day by day. The Police departments have understood what will wake people up.

It has become a daily thing where units from different countries will quote examples from famous local sports. In one case, Canadian police used an F1 reference which suits the theme as F1’s popularity rises in the country.

They said,Unless you’re @danielricciardo on an F1 circuit, speed limits apply.” Moreover, in the Valtteri Bottas and Yuki Tsunoda reference, they made sure to point out who we should follow.

#AnothaOne: Yesterday we saw a McLaren ripping eastbound on Hwy 407 at Warden, doing 172km/h in a posted 100.

Unless you’re @danielricciardo on an F1 circuit, speed limits apply.

Daniel Ricciardo, Valtteri Bottas and Yuki Tsunoda are police’s F1 references

Referencing Bottas to spread the message of “Stay calm, cool and collected”, they knew what they were doing. Yuki has been infamous for losing his cool on the tracks, spinning around and shouting vehemently down the radio. Valtteri, on the other hand, is a celebrated F1 driver with years of experience and a temperament unmatched.

We get that driving can be frustrating and not all road users are courteous. When driving, channel your inner Bottas—not Tsunoda. Stay calm, cool and collected. Share the road with others and don’t drive like any F1 drivers. pic.twitter.com/r3SW90H4wW

While this year Tsunoda looks and sounds much better, it was surely much needed. The Japanese driver even managed to score points for his team this weekend. Way to go Yuki! Tsunoda, while notorious for losing his cool, is also an example of improvement. Seems like he has decoded the formula for being consistent.

F1 has seen an unstoppable rise in the US and Asian countries. People have since gone out of their way to know more. While all the references obviously help the police, it also helps in the sport’s engagement. Supposedly you don’t know Daniel Ricciardo, you search him up, fall for his cheeky grin and start watching F1.
