Emma Raducanu’s Firing Spree Continues as She Splits up With Her Coach After Decent Run at Stuttgart Open 2022
For a young and talented tennis player to find consistency in winning matches at the elite level is not a simple task. After amassing millions of fans with her splendid run at the US Open last year, British teenager Emma Raducanu is finding it hard to keep winning back-to-back matches.
Raducanu’s record this year hasn’t been great so far and the Brit made constant changes to her team in order to find the right balance. Few months ago, Emma appointed Angelique Kerber’s former coach Torben Beltz to her team. While there was no instant success, Raducanu appeared to be comfortable with this new appointment and was expected to gradually find momentum over the rest of the season.

However, latest reports suggest that the teenage prodigy had fired Beltz as well after the completion of her run at WTA Stuttgart Open 2022. While Raducanu wasn’t instantly successful on clay, she managed to put up a tough fight against world no.1 Iga Swiatek before bowing out of the contest in straight sets.

After firing Beltz, Raducanu is all set to work with the LTA under a new training model. It’s evident that the youngster is experimenting with various options until she finds the desired combination. With the experience of Torben Beltz, a five-month stint seems to be a little less as he could have been a right fixture for Raducanu when it comes to playing big matches.
Raducanu’s lacklustre 2022 season
Coming to Emma’s performance this season, she started off the year on a losing note at the Sydney International and it took a while for the youngster to taste victory for the first time this year.

After a brief stint at the Sunshine Double, Raducanu went on to represent Great Britain at the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers and did considerably well on the red dirt. However, her best performance so far came at Stuttgart where she managed to reach the last eight.
Against Swiatek in the quarters, Raducanu stood up to the Pole’s top-spin inflicted baseline game but fell short in the end. The British teenager has reached Madrid for the next big clay-court tournament as she tries to test her fortunes on the red dirt once again.
