Piers Morgan has expressed his delight after a dramatic interview with former President Donald Trump drew in 400,000 viewers on TalkTV.
Things have got off to a decent start for the new TV channel, which began broadcasting on Monday.
According to Broadcast, the debate – which had been touted as the main event – peaked with an audience of 400,000.
Piers quickly reacted to the news, sharing: ‘BREAKING NEWS: @PiersUncensored got bigger ratings at 8-9pm last night than BBC News, Sky News and GB News…. COMBINED!!!
‘What a start – thanks for watching!’
His programme reached an 317,000 viewers between 8pm and 9pm on TalkTV last night (2% audience share).

According to the BARB figures: ‘The majority of Morgan’s audience was 65-plus.’
Piers has also been tweeting out reviews from his first night, with positive ratings from The Sun and The Times – both also owned by Rupert Murdoch.
Fans showed their feelings in the comment, with a lot of support from those who tuned in.

One wrote: ‘Enjoyed the show, can’t wait for part two of the Trump interview. TalkTV is the channel we have all been waiting for. Congrats to all for a brilliant launch, which is leaving me wanting more more more.
‘Brilliant, loved it. Great to see you back on our screens,’ someone else shared.
Another wrote: ‘Great to see you back, loved your interview, only spoiler was banner across bottom of the screen and, no subtitles!’

However, a viewer pointed out: ‘I expect the reason for the high ratings is cos people were curious because of all of the hyped up advertising etc of the show. It happens with all new shows. I must admit I watched it, it wasn’t what I expected. But you never know the ratings might be high too on tonights show.’
Others to feature on the hour-long programme included Ricky Gervais, who sent a surprise good luck message in.
This comes just months after the launch of fellow broadcaster GB News, which attracted a less healthy crowd on its first night.

The programme averaged 262,000 on its launch night back in June last year.
Others to front shows on the premiere included Sharon Osbourne and Julia Hartley-Brewer.
Piers Morgan Uncensored airs weeknights at 8pm on TalkTV.
