Cleaning fans are raving about 25p hack which gets ovens sparkling in less than half-an-hour

IT was voted by 35% of people as their most hated household chore.

And if you’re in that group, you might want to know of a hack that will help you clean your oven in less than 30 minutes – and it costs just 25p.

The experts at Tombola shared the hack, advising that you create a cleaning paste using “64g of baking soda and about 55ml of white vinegar.”

Next, take all the trays out of the oven and put them to soak in the sink – or even pop them in the garden.

“Spread the paste over the inside of the oven and, of course, the glass door,” the experts added.

Once it’s covered in the paste, leave it for 30 minutes, or overnight if you can.

Then, wipe it clean with a wet cloth.

The baking soda is a mild alkali which helps dirt and grease to dissolve and has the added benefit of being non-toxic.

And when mixed with white vinegar, the combination causes a chemical reaction which helps clean up stains and remove dirt.

To conclude the cleaning process, spray vinegar directly onto the inside of the oven.

“The chemical reaction between the vinegar and the baking soda will produce foam and bubbles, which will loosen the leftover grime and identify any residue of paste,” the pros at Ovenu said.

And given that both baking soda and white vinegar are readily available for just pennies, the hack won’t break the bank either.
