VIDEO: Roger Federer Gets a Warm Welcome in Malawi as He Visits the Minister of Gender
Roger Federer is a true legend. He has played consistently at the top level for over 20 years. During his illustrious career, he has enthralled tennis fans with his audacious displays on the tennis court. Additionally, his attacking shot-making and single-handed backhands are a treat to watch for every tennis fan.
Since turning pro in 1998, the Swiss maestro has gone on to win an astonishing 103 ATP singles titles, including 20 Grand Slam titles. Further, he has gone on to become one of the highest-paid sportspersons in the world.
Not only has he found success on the tennis court but also inspired the younger generation to take up the sport. Many top players in the world currently like Alexander Zverev and Denis Shapovalov consider Federer as their role model. Recently, he made an appearance for a noble cause in Malawi.

The 40-year-old visited the training for mentors on early learning in Malawi along with the Minister of Gender.

The Swiss legend’s initiative, the Roger Federer Foundation, has been active in the country since May 2020 for the School Readiness Initiative. It plans to provide quality pre-primary schooling for vulnerable children in 19 districts in the country. This is a great initiative by the Swiss icon, who aims to give back to society through his foundation.

Recently, Federer announced that he will be playing at the Swiss Indoors in his native country. The tournament will be held later in October. It will be his second confirmed tournament this year after the Laver Cup in September.

Federer’s last tournament was at Wimbledon, last year. He reached the quarterfinals of that tournament before losing to Hubert Hurkacz in straight sets. Subsequently, he had a knee injury which has kept him out of action since. His recent announcement comes as great news for his fans, who have missed watching him on the tennis court for a long time now.
