Heading to the event, she is the outright favorite for hunting down medals as her domination continues. Significantly, she posted a record time that fans have not seen since 2018. That’s the key takeaway from her stunning performance. She is on a mission to become the best.

Katie Ledecky sets the pace upfront

The 800-meters race saw Ledecky winning it with a time of 8:09.27. This is even a better time than she managed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as she set a time of 8:12.57. Remarkably, the last time she reached this time was back at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships in Tokyo. She posted a time of 8:09.13 in that race. Ledecky won three gold medals, one silver, and a bronze medal at those Championships. Hence, it is safe to say that she continues to dominate the pool.
