Holly Willoughby and Julia Bradbury break down in tears as Countryfile star recalls devastating breast cancer mastectomy

HOLLY Willoughby broke down in tears today after Countryfile presenter Julia Bradbury described her devastating mastectomy on This Morning.

The 51-year-old said she was advised to “say goodbye” to her boobs before the life-saving operation after being diagnosed with breast cancer last year.

Julia revealed she didn’t have enough fat around her body to reconstruct the breast after her and was offered silicone implants.

The brave star revealed to Holly, 41, and Phillip Schofield the moment she she told her children she had cancer, and how she felt before and after the surgery.

Wiping away tears, Julia said: “I’m still very emotional.

“I’ve discovered some serious hormone balances. So I’m deep diving into what I can do to maintain my health. I’m getting there. I hope I am helping other people, and I hope we can raise awareness of preventing cancer, alcohol is a risk, obesity is a risk.”

Julie appeared on ITV daytime This Morning ahead of her upcoming ITV documentary Breast Cancer and Me tonight.
