‘I Believe in Colin Kaepernick’: NFL Franchise Owner Might Be Tempted to Bring QB On Board
Colin Kaepernick has not played an official NFL game since 2016. The league and the owner barred him from competing due to an incident before a game. The then San Francisco 49ers quarterback exercised his right to protest during the national anthem. Doing such a thing would see Kaepernick out of the league for over half a decade.
Many people still don’t understand why the athlete did such a thing. Ever since the protest, Kaepernick has been trying to make his way back to the league every year. It seems like he might be close this time. The Las Vegas Raiders owner has understood Kaepernick’s actions over time. He might even end up giving him a chance.
The Raiders owner Mark Davis on Colin Kaepernick
The media has been asking the coaches why Colin Kaepernick has not found his way back yet? They all gave a simple answer: Ask the owner. The owners are the ones making big decisions in their fragrances and the league. But not a lot of owners get asked the question. It is a rare instance. But recently, the Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis did an interview where he spoke about Kaepernick.
A reporter of NBC Sports, Monte Poole, asked the Raiders owner about the absent quarterback. Davis said, “I believe in Colin Kaepernick.” He adds, “He deserves every chance in the world to become a quarterback in the National Football League. I still stand by it. If our coaches and General Manager want to bring him in or want him to be the quarterback on this team, I would welcome him with open arms.”
The answer by the Raiders owner seemed very optimistic for Kaepernick. It seems like he might get a chance to play in the NFL again after all.
Can Kaepernick play for the Raiders?
Despite what the owner has to say about Colin Kaepernick, the Raiders already have three quarterbacks. Derek Carr is leading the charge with back-ups Garrett Gilbert and Nick Mullens. Kaepernick does have the skills to play. But it would be a tough challenge for him to find a place in the squad.

The thing that makes it all complicated is that Kaepernick wants to play as a starter once he has proven himself worthy. We cannot see the Raiders making such changes. Carr has been very successful for the franchise and they probably will not start Kaepernick over him.
