Mum comes up with clever ‘divide and conquer’ method to help her deal with her family’s overflowing laundry pile

Jen took to TikTok to reveal her trick for making laundry day more manageable, as she admitted: “Folding laundry is something I struggle with.

“But thanks to TikTok, I think I might have found myself a solution.”

She then explained that each person in her family has their own box.

When she takes the clothes off the washing line, she puts them into the corresponding person’s box.

Then, she brings the boxes into the house, where she carefully folds the contents of each box.

She then puts the folded clothes back into the box, and “then you give them the box full of nicely folded clothes, ready for them to put away”.

Jen admitted in a pinned comment on the post that she’d seen the hack elsewhere on TikTok and thought it would work well for her family.

“I can’t remember the creator I saw doing this but basically each person in the house has a box, clothes are folded in the box – my brain just likes this,” she wrote.

“Jen this is a flipping great idea,” one person praised in the comments.


“ooohhh I like this!!” another wrote.

“I live with 3 other women so this will save the ‘that’s mine!!’ arguments.”

While a third wrote: “Omg game changer I always struggle and end up with piles of washing to sort through!

“Will definitely give this a try.”

“this is such good idea but I just know our ones wouldn’t put it away and I’d never get the box back,” another comment read.

Others questioned Jen about what she does with clothes that need ironing, to which she admitted that she only irons her children’s school shirts.
