MANCHESTER UNITED are in a close battle with Borussia Dortmund over the signing of Ajax striker Sebastian Haller.
Betfair currently have Dortmund as 2/1 favourites as the German side prepare for life after Erling Haaland, but Manchester United are still very much in the picture at 3/1.

The 27-year-old has 33 goals in 39 games for the Dutch club this season, in which he became the first player to score across seven consecutive Champions League matches, with an eighth in his next match being chalked off for offside.
Ajax signed the Ivorian striker in January 2021 from West Ham for £20m, just 18 months after the Hammers had broken their transfer record fee by paying £45m to Eintracht Frankfurt for him.
Haller won the double with Ajax in his first six months with the club, and Erik ten Hag’s side currently lead the Eredivisie by four points with just four games to go.
His good form this season, particularly in the Champions League, has interested some of Europe’s biggest clubs, not least Manchester United, whose new manager, Ten Hag, could be keen on taking Haller from with him Amsterdam to Manchester.

Manchester United will be in the market for a new striker this summer, with Edinson Cavani’s contract ending in June and the futures of both Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Martial up in the air.
Borussia Dortmund will be looking for a replacement for Erling Haaland, who seems all set to join Manchester City, and fancy bringing Haller back to Germany where he enjoyed success with Eintracht Frankfurt, helping them to the 2018 DFB Pokal.
Current Serie A leaders AC Milan also want a new striker and are keen on Haller, with Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic both over the age of 35 and in the twilight of their careers.
Betfair are even offering 10/1 for Haller to return to the London Stadium, as David Moyes looks for another striker to challenge Michail Antonio up front.
Arsenal are also thought to be keeping tabs on the situation, with both of their current strikers, Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah, both in line for departures this summer.
