‘You Don’t Know Roxette?’ – Roger Federer and Anne Hathaway’s Hilarious Exchange on Music Tastes

Roger Federer delighted all his fans and supporters recently by announcing his tentative return to the tour after many months of being off the circuit. In fact, Federer’s last match was at the Wimbledon last year, in 2021, where he lost in the quarterfinals to Hubert Hurkacz. He has been through some procedures on his knees since then, but he is ready to be back by October if all goes well.

Before that, however, he is not just practising to be back in his best shape. Turns out he is also learning some ‘acting skills’ from Oscar-winning actor Anne Hathaway.

The former World No. 1 and the world-famous actress collaborated to shoot a few advertisements for the Grand tour of Switzerland. This is an initiative to promote tourism in Switzerland. It encompasses a scenic 1643 km long journey which takes one to 46 top attractions, 22 lakes, 13 UNESCO World Heritage sites and 5 Alpine passes.

In the hilarious video that was released, Federer and Hathway are incredulous after realising that despite putting in a lot of effort the beauty of Switzerland had upstaged them in the actual video.

Recently, though, they did another promotional video for the Grand tour of Switzerland. The duo filmed a fun-filled question-answer session about road trips and music tests. Federer revealed he is a fan of the classic Queen and Bon Jovi and Roxette, which is a Swedish band. He also added that he likes backstreet boys as a road trip sing-along songs. He also revealed that he is quite a fan of Britney Spears as well. When urged by Anne to sing some Britney for the audience, Federer starts to sing, “Oops, I did it again!” but stops way into the first line of quotes to the amusement of Hathway.

Federer promises to be back soon

In what is fantastic news for everyone in the tennis fraternity, Federer has confirmed his presence at the Basel Open. This tournament is very close to his home and his heart. But before that, he is also supposed to play at the Laver Cup, with his rival on court and friend off it, Rafael Nadal.

This might be yet another historic time that they share the same side of the court as opposed to facing each other like they are used to. Nadal is returning to the tour soon, and Djokovic is looking to participate at most tournaments because of revisions in the vaccine mandates of several countries, and now this announcement, things are looking up for the tennis fraternity.
