I got over STI scare after I was too petrified to cope
DEAR DEIDRE: WHEN I first wrote to you, I was in such a panic.

If that weren’t bad enough, I’d just found out I was pregnant by my new boyfriend and had no idea how to tell him I might have given him an STI.
I was also worried about the health of our baby.
I’m 24 and couldn’t sleep for worrying. I feared I might lose my baby as well as my new boyfriend, who’s 26.
You reassured me that I shouldn’t be scared to go to a sexual health clinic, or my GP, to get a simple test.
You also gave me information on chlamydia from the NHS website, which explained how it could be treated.
You made me feel less alone. And I am so happy to tell you that my test came back negative.
I am now 25 weeks pregnant and everything is going so well.
My boyfriend and I are both happy and healthy.
Thank you so much for giving me the push I needed and for holding my hand.
