“It’s Not Really on Lamar”: Hollywood Brown Makes Shocking Revelation After Getting Traded to Arizona Cardinals
It was a surprising night for the Arizona Cardinals fans as for their 23rd pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the franchise chose to trade for WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown. In an evening dominated by a bunch of defensive selections, the Cardinals chose to reload their offense.
Although it came out to be an unexpected move from both ends, it was not as much surprising for Hollywood. In a recent interview with the I AM ATHLETE crew online, the Oklahoma alumnus revealed what had gone behind the scenes.
Marquise “Hollywood” Brown on his trade to the Arizona Cardinals
“It was just some like, my happiness,” Hollywood Brown said during the interview. “I talked a little more about it, after my second year, then after my third year. Leading up to the end of the season. It wasn’t planned. And I let him know again like, ‘Yo, bro, I can’t do it.’”

“It’s not really on Lamar like, I love Lamar. It was just, you know, it was just the system wasn’t for me personally. I love all my teammates, I love the guys, but it was just something I had to think about for myself. And the Ravens did… we both handled it the right way. I didn’t go out and make anything public. I just kept it kept in the house kept working. And it all worked out.”
Brown reunites with his College QB Kyler Murray
Brown explained how he kept asking the Ravens for a trade after his second and third seasons with them. He mentioned that it was not about the team or Lamar Jackson. He emphasized that the offensive system of the Ravens did not compliment him. However, now that he is reunited with his College QB Kyler Murray, the offense is built around him.
The Cardinals on the other hand have done a phenomenal job this offseason. Firstly, they retained their star QB Kyler Murray after a series of drama on social media. Secondly, the franchise equipped him with the weapon he is comfortable with. Brown and Murray spent two years together in Oklahoma as one of the most highly feared QB-WR duos.

Now that they have joined forces again, it will be seen how much of that chemistry is still left between them.
