Oti Mabuse was quite taken aback after Romeo and Duet contestant Michael revealed he was pretty into the Highway Code growing up – but still can’t drive a car.
Romeo and Duet is the new ITV dating show, which sees mystery singers given the chance to win over potential matches with the power of song.
Oti takes on the role of Cupid as the host, guiding the love-seekers through the challenge.
Tonight’s show will feature Michael, who stands at the top of the staircase and is serenaded by singletons with Louis Armstrong’s What A Wonderful World and Birdie’s Wings in the hope of tempting him down the staircase.
However, while Oti gets to know a bit more about the contestant, he reveals something pretty surprising about his childhood
In a preview clip, she asks: ‘What were you like growing up as a kid? Did you have any favourite books that you were into?’
‘My favourite book was the Highway Code,’ Michael admitted.

‘What? I mean, you must be an impeccable driver now,’ Oti quipped.
‘Funnily enough, I can’t drive yet,’ Michael laughed, which left Oti waving her arms in the air.

If he opts to match with one of the singers – whom he can hear but can’t see – they then get to meet and perform a duet together in the hope of winning a second date.
They get put in an ultimate romance battle against the other couples – but will Michael end up meeting his match?
The show began earlier this month on ITV and received a mixed response from those tuning in.
While many fans have praised Oti’s presenting skills, they haven’t quite fallen in love with the show’s format itself.
Some of the reviews of the show have been rather brutal, with some urging for it to be ‘cancelled’ by ITV after just two instalments – and begging Oti to return to Strictly.
Strictly fans’ hearts broke when long-serving professional Oti announced that she was leaving the show after seven years.

She is the only pro to have lifted the glitterball trophy two consecutive times, firstly with Kelvin Fletcher and then with Bill Bailey.
Oti said it was a ‘difficult decision’ not to return to the dancing programme, but vowed she will always be a part of the ‘Strictly family.’
Romeo and Duet airs Saturdays from 7pm on ITV.
