REPORTS: Aaron Rodgers Greets Packers Draft Acquisition Christian Watson With a Text; Rookie Comments On Playing Alongside MVP

The Green Bay Packers have been in a dire need of a new Wide Receiver recently. The departure of Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders has left a big void in Green Bay’s offense. Unsurprisingly, the Packers organization has tried its best to help Aaron Rodgers. They have tried to acquire a good WR to replace Davante, but they haven’t found success yet.

On the first day of the NFL Draft 2022, Green Bay had two first-round picks. However, they didn’t use any one of them on an offensive player. They decided to strengthen their defense instead. Notably, the top WRs of the Draft had already been picked with the earlier Draft picks.

The Wide Receiver pool of this draft had immense talent, and good players were still available in the later rounds of the draft. The Green Bay Packers decided to trade up in the draft to get the 34th overall pick from the Minnesota Vikings. With that pick, they drafted WR Christian Watson, who has been linked with the Packers since the Draft Combine.

According to Christian’s father, Aaron Rodgers was the first person to text Christian following him getting drafted by the Green Bay Packers. It looks like Aaron has found his new WR1. It will be interesting to see how the duo plays in the upcoming season.

Christian Watson is ready to play alongside Aaron Rodgers

Christian, the 6’4” tall receiver from the North Dakota State, will be donning the Green Bay Packers jersey to start his journey in the NFL. He will get to receive passes from one of the best receivers of all time, i.e, Aaron Rodgers.

Christian Watson on what he’ll tell Aaron Rodgers:

“I’m ready to work, I’m ready to learn, and I’m ready to get after it. I know he’s gonna be tough on me, and that’s exactly what I want.”

He was asked about what he will tell Rodgers when the duo eventually meets. He answered by saying, “I’m ready to work, I’m ready to learn, and I’m ready to get after it. I know he’s gonna be tough on me, and that’s exactly what I want.”

Can Rodgers and Watson lead the Green Bay Packers to a Super Bowl?

The main argument about the legendary career of Aaron Rodgers has been the lack of Super Bowl wins. Considered one of the best QBs of all time, Rodgers has only won 1 Super Bowl in his entire career.

He was unable to win a Super Bowl with Davante Adams as his WR1. Primarily, it was due to the bad performances of his defense and special teams. However, he himself has underperformed massively quite a few times.

It is still unclear how Watson and Rodgers will fit with each other. However, Rodgers seemed pretty excited to get Christian in Green Bay, and maybe good things can also come with the North Dakota State receiver.
