Annie Mac encountered a very cheeky fox as she sunbathed in her home on Saturday, unfortunately learning to her cost not to leave anything snazzy lying around in plain view (and access) of outside.
The former BBC Radio 1 DJ, who left her show in July 2021 after 17 years, was enjoying the fine bank holiday weekend weather as she threw open her bifold kitchen doors to lie on her sofa in the sun.
However, this gave direct access into her house to an extremely bold fox who came up to the star, sniffed around the carpet and then grabbed one of her trainers in its mouth before running back down the garden.
The star could be head exclaiming, ‘No, no no! Oi! Give me my shoe back! No. What the – ?’ as she sat up to see where the animal was heading.
Annie then shared a video clip of the incident on Twitter (we assume as she thought she’d get some fun up-close footage, not be the victim of a burglary).
‘A fox just walked into my kitchen and ran off with one of my trainers,’ the podcast host wrote.

‘It was a mint green suede Nike AF1,’ she added, alongside three head exploding emoji.
Not to rub salt in the wound, but to confirm – yes, that’s a Nike Air Force 1 trainer, which usually retail at upwards of £100 a pair and can have extremely high collectible value later on.
Her followers responded with some of their own anecdotes as one commented: ‘Foxes in 2022 are so brazen. I remember when they used to be smaller and ran away when you crossed paths at night.
‘Now they’re rocking up at garden parties without even bringing a bottle.’
Another shared a Facebook group their neighbourhood had set up, purely for ‘reuniting shoes with people’.

‘This!’ one fan agreed. ‘Hadn’t experienced it until a couple of years ago – washed my favourite pair of walking sandals, left them in the front porch on a warm night to dry and woke up next morning to just the one sandal. Utter confusion…’
Annie also had viewers guffawing earlier this month when she revealed her obscure pronunciation of the word ‘kneading’ during Celebrity Bake Off’s Stand Up To Cancer charity special.
As she was tasked with making six identical raspberry doughnuts, Annie shared that she was keen to hammer her dough by ‘nedding’ it.
Presenter Noel Fielding was rather amused by Annie’s unique take on the word and confronted her about it.
The podcaster recently had people in stitches over her Bake Off exploits (Picture: Channel 4)
‘Word on the street is that instead of kneading dough you keep saying “nedding” dough,’ he said.

‘Just because I don’t know the baking lingo!’ Annie admitted.
Stand aside, Nigella Lawson and her iconic “microwavé”! Although she has no excuse for not knowing the lingo…
