Davina McCall has been a wonderful presence on our TV screens for years, becoming a household name when she took on the role of presenting Channel 4’s Big Brother.
She’s continued to go from strength to strength after quitting the show in 2010, presenting much-loved programmes such as Long Lost Family, The 100k Drop, This Time Next Year, The Jump and The Million Pound Drop to name a few.
More recently, she’s been a judge on the competition show The Masked Singer, and then, since 2021, she stuck on the panel for spin-off The Masked Dancer too.
Other gigs have included regularly presenting Comic Relief, and the Sky One dance competition Got To Dance.
Now, she’s returning to our screens with the Channel 4 documentary Davina McCall, Sex, Mind and the Menopause in which she explores her experience with menopause and its early stages, known as perimenopause.
Menopause is when a woman stops having periods and is no longer able to get pregnant naturally, while perimenopause is the transitional period that occurs beforehand. Symptoms can include hot flushes, night sweats, reduced sex drive and headaches.

Sharing her own ordeal, the TV presenter said ahead of the documentary: ‘For me when I lost those hormones – or in fact in perimenopause, the hormones go up and down so you think you’re going completely mad – I felt that it aged me, I felt that I was going to be irrelevant, I felt embarrassed because I’d always been at the top of my game.’

Davina is 54, and she was born on October 16, 1967, in Wimbledon, before shooting to fame thanks to her work on MTV in the 1990s.
The star was raised by her grandparents after her parents split up when she was just three years old, before moving in with her father when she was a teenager.
She started her career as a singer, but after failing to gain the recognition she desired, she quit and took on a role as a model booker at Models 1.
After that, she ran a restaurant for two years, before she moved to Paris for a short time and worked as a cabaret-performer.

In 1992, she landed her first presenting role on MTV Europe, with Ray Cokes’ Most Wanted while in 1993 she clinched a role on Channel 4’s reality dating show Streetmate.
She’s also successful financially, with an estimated net worth of around £4million, including property in St Tropez and Surrey.
The philanthropist has also raised millions for charity, including generating more than £2million for Comic Relief in 2014.

Davina is currently in a happy relationship with her hairstylist Michael Douglas after the pair made their romance public back in 2019 – two years after her split from husband Matthew Robertson.
Since going public with their relationship, the couple have launched a podcast, Making The Cut, that aims to help people make the tough decisions in their life, whether that’s what to watch on TV that night, or where to go on holiday.
The couple now live in Kent, with two of Davina’s three children: Holly, 20, Tilly, 18, and Chester, 15.

She shares her three children with her ex-husband Matthew Robertson, who she married in 2000, but then divorced in 2017.
Speaking to The Sun, she revealed: ‘I have made many mistakes in my life’.

Confirming the split at the time, she said: ‘I am very sad to say Matthew and I have separated. Our amazing children are our number one priority.’
Before Matthew, Davina had been married to shop manager Andrew Leggett, who she got hitched to in 1997 after knowing him for only six months, but then divorced in 1999. What is her net worth?
