‘Just Getting Started’ -Serena Williams’s Husband Alexis Ohanian Ecstatic After Attending NSWL Match

Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, is an avid sports fan. The Reddit co-founder is regularly spotted attending sporting events. Revisiting his old interviews, the 39-year-old entrepreneur has asserted that the list of his favorite sports includes American football and basketball.

The day before yesterday, Alexis visited another American football game. However, unlike the other games, this game had much more on the bet for Alexis than any other American football match. He went to see an NWSL match of the team of which he is an investor. Ohanian attended the NWSL match between Angel City and North Carolina Courage. The nail-biting match ended with Angel City winning 2-1.

Alexis Ohanian attends Angel City’s match

Alexis Ohanian is the co-founder of Reddit. However, the entrepreneur has much more in his professional profile. One of those is investing. Last year, Ohanian launched his own investing firm 776Fund. Launching the firm, Ohanian asserted he will help young ventures flourish through his firm.

Out of the many ventures he has invested in, one of them is the NSWL team Angel City FC. As per the club’s website, Alexis Ohanian is the leading investor of the club. In one of his interviews during the founding days of the club, Alexis said, “The value of being associated with these women, I think, is a greater brand value than being associated with their male counterparts.”

Day before yesterday, Ohanian attended the club’s match. Giving a glimpse of his visit, he uploaded a post for the same on his Instagram. He captioned the post, “We 776fund went to a very special football match in LA tonight and Ali Riley (team captain) and her squad Angel City FC showed us a dominant performance on opening night in front of a SOLD-OUT CROWD. Get used to this. Lots of folks told me three years ago no one wanted to watch women’s sports just getting started.”

Angel City is the newest edition of the National Women’s Soccer League. Founded in 2020, the team started competing in the league from this year onwards. As per the leaderboard, the team is currently standing on the third spot.
