Rob Gronkowski Will Return to Tampa Bay If His Legendary Former Teammate Signs With The Buccaneers
Even though the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have drafted two tight ends in this year’s draft, the franchise is still waiting for their elite tight end Rob Gronkowski to return. Recently, the star announced that he might return for one more season but only if Julian Edelman signs with the Buccaneers.
After winning the team a Super Bowl in 2021, Gronkowski is currently weighing his chances whether to play or not. However, he confirmed that if there is a return, then it will be alongside Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.
Rob Gronkowski wants Julian Edelman to sign with the BUCS
Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, and Julian Edelman’s partnership was the most lethal payload for the Patriots’ offensive unit. Edelman played as a wide receiver for 12 years with the Patriots until he retired in the 2020 season.
Although Edelman had himself vowed that he is a one-team player, he can still make a comeback with the Buccaneers. While talking to Sports Illustrated, Gronkowski said that he would return but only if Edelman signs with the Brady-led offensive unit. “If Julian [Edelman] signs with the Bucs right now, I’m coming back for a whole other year,” Gronkowski said.

Well, this is not the first time Gronk talked about his comeback. During his interview before the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, Gronk expressed his love and affection for the team. “There’s one thing, if I do play football, though, it would be with the Bucs,” Gronk said. Even though the star has resorted to remaining coy about his future, Gron has already started his workout sessions.
Gronkowski is potentially training for the next season
It seems like a normal training session, but Rob Gronkowski and Tennessee Titans star running back Derrick Henry shared workout session photographs online. However, this led to another speculation that Gronk wants to make a comeback with the Titans in the upcoming season.
Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski connected for 90 touchdown passes and created an NFL record for the same. Although this year Brady will have a chance to throw to newer TEs as well. In this year’s draft, Buccaneers selected TE Cade Otton in the fourth round and Minnesota alumni Ko Kieft in the 6th round to their tight end room.

So there is no deficiency for a TE at this point, but if the team wants to bag another Super Bowl title, then the Brady-Gronk partnership will definitely help them reach the goal. But what the future holds for Brady & the Bucs is still in the dark.
