Seahawks Draft Acquisition Coby Bryant Hoping to Emulate His Idols ‘Legion of Boom’: ‘My Dad Used to Talk to Me About Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor Growing Up”

Seattle Seahawks will be looking forward to working with one of their newest acquisitions, cornerback Coby Bryant. Apart from his name sounding similar to NBA legend Kobe Bryant, he has high ambitions after becoming a member of the Seahawks organization. The franchise has been searching for a talented CB for some time now, and Bryant is showing all the fire that they were looking to add.

Bryant also reveals how closely he has been following the Seahawks and admits his dreams of emulating the franchise greats. He states, “My Dad used to talk to me about Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, and Kam Chancellor growing up…they were actually my favorite group growing up.

While the rookie has been saying all the right things, he shows determination to be the hardest worker in the room to achieve his goal.

He admits to not feeling the pressure of the Bryant surname. But considers it as a privilege and pushes him to be great. Despite missing 2 of the best CB players in the Draft, Bryant has the potential to become a defensive presence in the future. He left a great impression on the Seahawks during his interview with the team. He will be itching for his chance to step onto the NFL stage.

Is Coby Bryant the smart choice for the Seattle Seahawks?

His game brings a ton of production and experience to Seattle’s secondary which will be a welcome addition. Bryant won the Jim Thorpe Award last season after becoming the nation’s top defensive back playing alongside Ahmad Gardner, the 4th overall pick to the New York Jets this year. Being a 23-year-old cornerback, he ended up recording 9 interceptions, and 35 passes defended over four seasons as a college starter.

Even the Seahawks head coach seems to be a fan of Bryant and wonders about his luck. While talking about Bryant, Carroll states, “It’s because Coby is such a good football player, just all-around. He can do it all. He’s big and strong, really aware leader on that team, on a championship club, and a really good playmaker.

The glowing reports from the Seahawks head coach and the organization leaders fill their fans with promises about Bryant.

He joins Sidney Jones (re-signed), Tre Brown (returning from knee surgery), and Artie Burns in the CB room. The 2022 NFL campaign will be a test of his courage for the young rookie looking to make his mark.
