When Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Told Mike Tyson to “Not Go Gentle” for His Boxing Comeback Against Roy Jones Jr.

The comeback fight of former champions Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr was a memorable clash. However, before stepping into the ring, ‘The Baddest Man on Planet’ had received a bit of bold advice from Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. The WWE star turned actor told Tyson to ‘Not Go Gentle’ for his comeback fight.

Ahead of the fight, Tyson had shared some amazing figures regarding his most anticipated comeback against former four-division champ Roy Jones Jr. According to reports, the exhibition bout landed at Staples Center Los Ángeles on November 28, 2020, had broken all records of pre-fight sales.

Notably, billed as ‘Lockdown Knockdown’, the fight took place during the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, in-person attendance was zero.

Sharing the record numbers, Tyson wrote in the caption, Numbers don’t lie. Haters are mad they can’t get numbers like this. Saturday will be a day of reckoning. @royjonesjrofficial you better be ready.”

To which the highest-paid movie star has replied in comments, “F— yes. Congrats in advance, my brother. ‘do not go gentle.’”

As if Tyson had paid heed to Johnson’s words, he stepped inside the ring, all guns blazing. The two legendary pugilists had a combined age of 105, but that did not restrict them from delivering. As an aggressor, Tyson landed a few lethal blows. Jones Jr. ate them well and fought back with wonderful skills. The experience of the two legends was quite visible throughout the eight rounds of two minutes.
