Coco Gauff Says Iga Swiatek Drives Her to Reach the Top in the WTA Tennis

Iga Swiatek has been a standout player on the women’s tour this season. At only 20, the Polish ace has scaled to the summit in women’s singles. Further, Swiatek has won four titles on the trot, including the ‘Sunshine Double’. Additionally, she is on a 23-match unbeaten streak and has dominated her opponents every time she has stepped onto the court this year.

Earlier this year, Swiatek reached the last four at the Australian Open, losing against Danielle Collins of the United States in the semifinals. Her winning streak commenced after her disappointing campaign in Dubai. The 20-year-old won titles in Qatar, Indian Wells, Miami, and Stuttgart to maintain her unbeaten run.

She said, “Age, yes, does play a factor a little bit with experience or maybe physically, but Iga being No.1 definitely gives a little extra motivation knowing that she can accomplish it at such a young age in the sport, and maybe you think that you can do it too.”
