First look at Disney World’s huge new attraction opening at the theme park

DISNEY World has revealed the first look at a huge new Moana attraction set to open at the theme park.

Based on the hit 2016 movie, the Moana themed area at Disney World will be called Journey of Water.

New concept art shows where Journey of Water will be located within the Epcot park.

Entering from the left, guests will follow a winding path before coming into the main area where a wooden structure overlooks several impressive water fountains.

The walk through attraction will feature interactive fountains and is a whimsical exploration of the water cycle and how it sustains the world.

Disney described the attraction as a “lush exploration trail” that will be the first Disney Parks experience based on animated musical Moana.

They promise Journey of Water “will invite guests to meet and play with magical, living water.

“Just like Moana’s friend the ocean, water will have a personality of its own, helping guests learn how to protect the natural water cycle in a fun and engaging way.”

Located in Disney World’s Epcot park, Journey of Water will be within the World Nature area – a part of the park that is dedicated to showcasing the beauty and magic behind the natural world.

The World Nature area within Epcot will also feature an area based on the hit Finding Nemo movies, with The Land and The Seas with Nemo & Friends.

Epcot is also home to brand-new Marvel attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Epcot first opened to guests in October 1982, with Spaceship Earth – the iconic 18-story sphere structure – being the centrepiece of the theme park.
