I asked my younger colleague out but now he’s ghosting me

DEAR DEIDRE: THERE is a guy at work who makes my heart flip but he is 18 years younger than me.

This guy is gorgeous and funny and I can’t stop thinking about him.

I’ve messaged him twice but he has ignored me

So, a few weeks ago, I took the bull by the horns and asked whether he was single and if he fancied going for a drink.

He said yes on both counts and took my number.

I’m 50 and he’s 32 but I am told I look pretty good for my age.

Even though we see each other every day, he hasn’t mentioned going for that drink.

I’ve messaged him twice saying: “How about tonight?” But he has ignored me.

Should I tell him how much I like him and ask him out again, or just forget about it?

He is the first person I have fancied since my divorce and I was so excited.

DEIDRE SAYS: It does sound like he only wants a working relationship, I am sorry to say.

It might be he feels the age difference is too big, or perhaps he does not want to get involved with a colleague, which some workplaces frown upon.

big flop

I waited weeks to have sex with her but then I couldn’t get an erection

Best put this one down to experience. Think of him as a friend and look for someone else.

My support pack called Finding The Right Partner For You has tips on how to do this.
