Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause recently confirmed she’s dating Australian rapper G Flip – but why did she divorce her ex-husband Justin Hartley?

Chrishell burst onto the scene at The Oppenheim Group in season one of Selling Sunset, where she was the newbie at the brokerage.

At the time, the actress and real-estate broker was married to This Is Us star, Justin, with the pair tying the knot in 2017.

They had been together for four years prior to their big day and engaged for two. He was previously married to Lindsay Hartley from 2004 to 2012.

However, avid fans of the LA-based reality show will remember that Chrishell was left pretty blindsided when her husband announced their divorce to the world back in 2019.

She’s since dated her boss Jason Oppenheim and is now dating G Flip, which she confirmed in the reunion.

Justin is now married to actress Sofia Pernas, but why did he and Chrishell divorce in the first place?

Why did Justin Hartley and Chrishell break up?

Fans saw Chrishell deal with the sudden news her husband had filed for divorce during season three of Selling Sunset.

It came as the series villain Christine Quinn wed billionaire husband Christian Richard, with Chrishell later fleeing the reception.

However, Justin officially filed in November 2019 after two years of marriage, according to Us Weekly.

‘Justin had been having problems with the marriage for a while,’ a source told Us Weekly at the time.

They went on to add that ‘the divorce filing was a big surprise to everyone around Justin and Chrishell in terms of their friends.’

‘I’m just kind of in shock with it all,’ Chrishell revealed on-screen in season three. ‘It’s just a lot all at once because everybody in the whole world knows.

‘I love him so much. This was my best friend. Who do I talk to now?’

The reason for their divorce still isn’t exactly clear, with Justin citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the marriage breakdown.

Chrishell told close friend Mary Fitzgerald she was dumped via text, sharing: ‘I found out because he texted me that we were filed. Forty-five minutes later, the world knew.’

Later on, Justin appeared on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy in late October 2020, warning fans not to believe everything they hear, seemingly referring to the drama around his separation.

‘I think people want to know about other people’s personal affairs, but it’s just, I would just caution people,’ he said. ‘I caution my daughter on this all the time. I said, “You can’t—you really can’t just believe something because you read it.”’

Justin has now entered into his third marriage with Sofia, who starred in the NBC series The Brave. The pair initially met on the set of The Young and the Restless which they starred in from 2015 to 2016, reconnecting some years later.

Selling Sunset can be streamed in full now on Netflix.
