Kang Soo-yeon dead: Award-winning South Korean actress dies aged 55

AWARD-winning South Korean actress Kang Soo-Yeon has passed away at the age of 55.

The pioneering film star was admitted to hospital on Thursday in Seoul after being found unconscious at home.

She tragically suffered a cardiac arrest and died two days later in hospital, Soompi reported.

Kang, known tenderly as Korea’s “first world star”, sadly never regained consciousness after she was discovered unresponsive.

She was surrounded by her loved ones when she passed away on Saturday.

The 55-year-old had been set to make a comeback later this year after starring in a Netflix sci-fi movie.
