Traffic Jam Jimmy dead at 65: Baltimore television icon James Uhrin passes away as cause of death revealed

TELEVISION icon James Uhrin, known by locals as ‘Traffic Jam Jimmy’ passed away this morning, his family announced.

The Baltimore news star died at 65 from a heart attack, FOX 45 reported.

Uhrin was known for “guiding” drivers around Baltimore each morning as he reported on the traffic.

“Traffic Jam Jimmy” began working with FOX 45 in 1976.

He began working while he was a student at an electronics school run by Sinclair Broadcast Group.

During his career with FOX 45, he worked as a director and editor and even helped record commercials.

“Jimmy was one of the great men in broadcasting. A credit to his profession and one of the finest human beings that I had the pleasure of working with,” said Sinclair Broadcast Group Executive Chairman David Smith.

Uhrin is survived by his wife, Marie, his three children Greg, Martin, and Jess, and six grandchildren.
