Carlos Alcaraz Makes a Wise Change in His Schedule for French Open 2022 Preparation

At 19 years and 4 days, Carlos Alcaraz has steadily become one of the most promising players on the tour. Starting from his title win in Miami to his latest win in Madrid, the Spaniard is currently on an astonishing 17-1-win streak. Seeing his magnificent form, especially in Barcelona and Madrid, he is undoubtedly one of the top contenders for the upcoming 2022 Roland Garros.

Yesterday, following his ravishing win over Alexander Zverev in the Madrid finals, Carlos announced a major change in his schedule. The change comes in as a step by the player to prepare better for the French Open.

Carlos Alcaraz withdraws from the Rome Masters

Following his win in Miami, Alcaraz kicked off his clay-court season on a slightly low note, suffering a second-round loss. However, walking in the footsteps of his idol Rafael Nadal, the young Spaniard showed a never give up attitude, making a strong comeback in Barcelona. Cruising over his opponents, he won the title, beating fellow Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta in the finals.

However, just one win didn’t seem to be enough for Carlos. Going ahead, he further went on winning the recently concluded Madrid Open. The next in line was the Rome Masters. However, after playing a whopping 11 hours of high intensity tennis in the past one week, Carlos yesterday announced his withdrawal from the Rome Masters.

The move came in looking at the need of rest for the body. After weeks of rigorous tennis, the new World No. 6 will take some time off the tour and prepare for Roland Garros, scheduled to start after 13 days. The move received high appreciation from the tennis community, calling it a wise move.

Carlos Alcaraz does the wise thing and will not play Rome next week.

He played seven tournaments the entire season till Roland Garros.

Scheduling like a top player despite the 19yo.
