Joel Embiid’s 4 Word Shocker on Bias Against 76ers Unearthed by Fans as Nikola Jokic Wins NBA MVP

The wait has ended. Nikola Jokic wins the NBA MVP for the 2021-22 season ahead of Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo. He has won the award for the second straight season now. With this achievement, Jokic joined 12 other NBA players in its illustrious history to win back-to-back MVP award. The three players Nikola, Joel, and Giannis had been in a three-horse race for quite a few months. They kept replacing one another in the top three spots and anyone could have won it. All three certainly deserved it.

Jokic led the league in player efficiency rating (32.8), win shares (15.2), box plus/minus (13.7) and value over replacement player (9.8), per Basketball Reference. On the season, Jokic averaged 27.1 points on 58.3 percent shooting, 13.8 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game.

A formal announcement is expected to be made by the league this week.

Denver missed their second (Jamal Murray) and third (Michael Porter Jr.) who were at the top of the scoreboard for them last season. However, even then, Denver put up a 48-34 record. That was mainly because of Jokic, whose sensational seventh NBA season guided Denver to the playoffs for the 4th straight season. Despite not having Murray and Porter, Denver managed to finish sixth in offensive rating.
