He dropped a picture of ‘The Lion’ holding belts on his shoulder in his Instagram story. Clearly, the picture displayed Lewis cheering after a win. ‘The Truth’ wrote, “Badman”.
The legacy that Lewis left behind
The ex-heavyweight champ took official retirement from the sport in 2003 and never again laced gloves. In the era of most devastating heavyweights like Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson, ‘The Lion’ emerged as the champion.

After clinching gold in the super-heavyweight division of the Olympics, Lewis turned pro. He collected several titles at the regional level and became WBC heavyweight champion in the year 1992 without even getting inside the ring.
The 6-foot and 5 inches tall warrior became a phenomenon in the ending years of his career when he delivered the biggest knocks. The British faced another heavyweight great Holyfield twice in his career to unify WBC, WBA, IBF, and IBO titles. He was the last heavyweight champ to unify all titles.
Later, in the year 2002, he knocked out one of the greatest heavyweights of all time, Mike Tyson, in a highly anticipated bout of boxing history.
After defeating Vitali Klitschko in the year 2003, Lewis vacated all his belts and retired as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.
