Harry Potter fans are obsessing over Josh Herdman’s (aka Gregory Goyle’s) new look after watching him in The Games.

The actor is taking part in ITV’s The Games this week, a sporting competition which sees 12 celebrities battle it out against each other.

While viewers may remember him as one half of Crabbe and Goyle – the cupcake scoffing Slytherin sidekicks of Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) – Josh, who is now a cage fighter, looked entirely different in yesterday’s first episode.

Josh, who was competing against the likes of former Love Islander Wes Nelson and The Wanted’s Max George, finished the 400m sprint in second place after Wes.

Fans seemed too busy to notice though, as they were drooling over the 34-year-old’s glow up.

‘How did he turn into this beautiful man? OOF!’ someone penned on Twitter.

Another wrote: ‘Josh Herdman is pretty fit now.’

Some fans were quick to notice that Josh was dressed in Slytherin-appropriate attire, as his Games kit was coincidentally green.

One viewer wrote: ‘Hats off to whoever put Josh Herdman in green.’

Viewers weren’t the only ones fangirling however, as Strictly Come Dancing professional Kevin Clifton revealed that he was also a huge Harry Potter fan.

He admitted: ‘I love Harry Potter. I’ve read all the books, I’ve watched all the films with Josh and I’m constantly kind of star struck.’

Loved seeing @keviclifton fanboying over Josh Herdman. Makes me feel better about my fangirling over him! You’re doing great Kevin! #TheGames #TeamKevin

Speaking to his competitor, Kevin said: ‘You know there’s always rivalry between all of us, was there rivalry between the Slytherins and the Gryffindors?’ to which Josh replied: ‘No, there was never genuine rivalry.’

The pro dancer then asked what we were all thinking: ‘So you didn’t have a Slytherin Whatsapp group?’ which Josh denied, although he admitted he’s still friends with ‘some’ of the Harry Potter cast.

Josh also jokingly pointed out how much of a ‘Potterhead’ the ‘star struck’ Kevin seemed to be.

Since appearing in the Harry Potter franchise, Josh swapped his wand for boxing gloves, and competed in his first MMA fight in 2016, winning against Janusz Walachowski.

‘I chose MMA because I love the sport. It’s raw, exciting and unpredictable,’ the 31-year-old revealed.

‘I find it more interesting than boxing although I appreciate the beauty and art in boxing,’ he told Addicted MMA On The Road.

Elsewhere on yesterday’s first episode of The Games, Max faced an injury during the 400m sprint, and Christine Guinness walked off in tears after opening up about her autism.

Some fans took to social media to share support for Max, while others slammed the new series for lack of events and too much ‘filler’.

One person wrote: ‘Nobody wants to see The One Show with five minutes of sport.’

The Games continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
