I’m a fashion whizz – the three major mistakes you make that instantly look cheap – and why leopard print must go

A FASHION guru has revealed the major errors people make that instantly cheapen the look – including the beloved leopard print.

Fashion certainly doesn’t have any rules – as long as it makes you feel confident, you can wear whatever you want.

But according to one whizz, Fashion Mom on TikTok, there are a few things to keep in mind when putting together your outfit.

In a clip, which has since taken the internet by storm, racking up a whopping 2.1 million views, the pro explained why the price of the garments isn’t relevant.

According to her, you can still look cheap even if you’ve forked out thousands on high-end designer items.

”None of my fashion children look cheap.”

NOT THE BREAST

Number one, Fashion Mom revealed, is ”logo on logo on logo…on logo”.

Though a little logo monogram can be ”cute” in certain instances, there’s a fine line between chic and cheap – and going overboard with large brand logos printed virtually everywhere certainly won’t help the look.

”It’s gotta be done in moderation.”

Our whizz, Clemmie Fieldsend, agreed: ”Expensive brands such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton and YSL with their initial stamps make you look flashy and like you’re trying too hard to show off your wealth.

”Remember, money doesn’t buy you style.”

Another fashion Don’t to avoid at all costs, she pointed out, is the famous oversized trend that took over runaways and magazines a few years ago – and hasn’t stopped since.

Using a snap of Billie Eilish, the award-winning American singer-songwriter, who is also known for her love of baggy clothing, Fashion Mom claimed that more often than not it will come across as ”sloppy”.

”I get the oversized blazer look – I really do – but […] this gives me the ‘The Big and Tall store […], retailed $50.99, purchased on clearance $19.99.

”I love the oversized blazer trend…But maybe not a triple XL […] on an extra small frame.”

The third no-no to be wary of is the famous leopard print, which rose to fame a few years ago.

”I don’t care how much it costs, you’ll look like a clown…And cheap.”

Fellow fashionistas rushed to comments to share their thoughts, with one writing: ”if you told me all of those were 10$ i would’ve believed you.”

”Agree the oversized is way too much,” someone else added.

But there were also plenty of those who disagreed with what Fashion Mom had said, like this TikTok user: ”Okay but logo mania started in the AA [African American] community so it’s a little icky to call that “cheap” just bc you don’t like it [sic].”

A fan of Billie Eilish warned: ”Don’t ever shade Billie Eilish.”
