Sean O’Malley Doubles Down on Joe Rogan’s Vegan Diet Insinuation Against Canelo Alvarez

Few boxers have achieved what Canelo Alvarez has in his career. With immense popularity among his fans, Alvarez is one of the top boxers in the world. However, he suffered only a second setback (vs Dmitry Bivol) in his career that drew huge reactions from fans and fighters. One such reaction was from UFC bantamweight Sean O’Malley.

In his interview, O’Malley said, “I just watched the highlights. That was pretty crazy. What did you think of that? I thought it was interesting. Canelo definitely didn’t look, you know, as sharp as he does.”

“I heard Canelo ate a vegan. That was like his first time eating a vegan diet for that fight camp…If that’s the case, I could kind of see it. I mean, you don’t ever see Canelo looking that gassed in the later rounds.”

UFC color commentator and podcast host Joe Rogan, too, has not been a massive fan of the vegan diet. The JRE host criticized and blamed Alvarez’s vegan diet for his loss to Dmitry Bivol.

“By the way, you look like s**t. Because if you’re eating those plant-based burgers or whatever the f**k you’re doing, you are obese. A guy like Bill Gates telling people when he’s got these breasts and this gut.”

While Sean O’Malley is currently sitting on the sidelines and giving out his reactions to other fighters’ bouts, it is important to note that he will be returning soon.

Sean O’Malley will look to win his fourth consecutive fight at UFC 276

Sean O’Malley’s career in the UFC has been full of entertaining moments. Since fighting on Dana White’s Contender Series, his stock has exploded. He fought five times since fighting in the Contender series and won all five fights until he lost to Marlon Vera. After his loss to ‘Chito’, O’Malley won his next three fights.

Sean O’Malley will return to the octagon to fight Pedro Munhoz at UFC 276 on July 2. The 15-1 fighter, who is on a three-fight win streak, will look to make it four against a fighter who lost to Dominick Cruz at UFC 269.

In his last five fights, Munhoz has suffered a dip in form as he has put together a 1-4 record. Another loss may leave him on the precipice of a cut from the promotion. Hence, the Brazilian fighter will look towards getting back to winning ways at UFC 276.
