If you’re after the best TV deals online, one of the first places to go searching is on Amazon.

The retailer has slapped a 43% price drop on a 43-inch television – which I doubt is anything but a coincidence, to be honest.

Regardless, it’s a hefty £170 discount from the RRP of £399, on a budget-friendly 4K TV that’s perfect for the average telly buyer.

If you want to upgrade to 4K this is a great opportunity to do so at no great cost.

The 43-inch screen size might be considered small in today’s market – you’ll find TVs as big as 85 inches online – but for the average viewing space this is perfect.

Honestly, don’t buy big if you don’t benefit from the size, you simply won’t appreciate the picture.

Since this is a smart TV, it puts Netflix, Prime Video and all the other streaming services at your fingertips (quite literally: there are keys on the remote control that can access them all).

On top of that, the 43AE7000 is a TV that comes with HDR.

That might sound like yet another meaningless acronym, but it actually stands for High Dynamic Range and it’s a cool feature that turns 4K resolution up a notch by improving darks and contrast levels.

The sound is similarly fine-tuned with DTS Studio Sound – but better still, the 43AE7000 comes with built-in Alexa.

This telly has been yo-yoing in price over the last year: it first fell below £300 in January and is now the cheapest it’s ever been.
