I’m an influencer & want people to know the ‘reality’ of fitting rooms & it’s bad news when it comes to denim shorts

HANDS up if you’ve ever gone into a clothes store and tried on your usual size, only for the garment to not even fit over a thigh.

Well, the good news is, you’re not alone!

And now, body positive influencer Emily Bispo, 23, who is from the US, has made it her mission to reveal the “reality” of trying on summer shorts in the fitting room.

In a short video shared to TikTok in a bid to encourage her social media followers to love their bodies, she writes: “Let’s go short shopping – realistic version.”

“Thicc girl vs. Levi’s.”

Emily can then be seen recording herself as she tries on a variety of different denim shorts she’s selected from the rails.

BOOB OR BUST

I bought Pretty Little Thing and Boohoo bikinis but they barely contained me

GROSS LITTLE THING

I ordered some £19 PLT leggings – they’re stained with ‘urine & blood’

The first pair she chooses are yellow high-waisted shorts – and Emily predicts the outcome before she’s even tried them on.

“Laughing already because I know they won’t fit,” she quips.

After a little wriggle, the body positive influencer manages to get them past her bum and thighs, but isn’t able to do up the zip.

Next up are a pair of black shorts, and while Emily manages to fasten them, she’s still not satisfied with the fit.

Looking at herself in the mirror, she simply says: “No.”

She then tries on a blue denim version and after the unsuccessful previous fittings, decides to size up.

Still, she claims they are “too tight.”

Finally, Emily has more success with a pair of “mom” style shorts after sizing up.

She captioned the video: “The dressing room is NOT your enemy! I promise!”

You just gotta find the clothes that make YOU feel good. It’s not your body’s fault, I promise.”

The post has since gone viral and garnered an impressive 1.4 million views – and been inundated with comments from grateful social media users.

“I wear anything from an 8 to a 14. Women’s clothing is a joke,” noted one.

A second agreed: “Jeans and shorts are a joke to shop for.”

A third praised: “This made me feel so safe, now I want to go shorts shopping!”

Meanwhile, a fourth added: “This makes me feel so safe. I can’t tell you how many summers I’ve spent in dressing rooms crying but this summer will be different because of you.”
