NFL Legend, Who Called LeBron James the GOAT, Urges Him to Team Up With Kevin Durant at Brooklyn Nets

The Lakers are still searching for their next head coach after firing Frank Vogel during the last game of the season. The disappointing season of the Lakers was most possibly one of the worst ones in their history. The side with such elite history and riches of legends, falling the way they did this season is concerning, to say the least. Even with LeBron James firing they couldn’t qualify for the play-in tournament.

Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that Mark Jackson completed an interview with the Los Angeles Lakers for their head coach vacancy. In fact, LeBron James would be rather encouraging if Mark Jackson did end up taking the position.

Whether or not Mark Jackson proves to be a good fit for the Lakers would be proved only when he is indeed given the job. Moreover, Shannon Sharpe thinks that he would be a good fit because LeBron, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis, all the veterans would respect him and that is how the Lakers can go up and running again.

However, Shannon also suggested a massive surprise move for LeBron James next season to get him to team up with another great of the NBA.

LeBron James and Kevin Durant to take the league by storm?

Shannon and Skip talked about how not only a change in coach but a change in the roster is also needed for the Lakers to have an impactful next season. The duo talked about how if the coach doesn’t pan out maybe LeBron could be a player-coach for a season at least. They also talked about how hypothetically LeBron and KD would absolutely kill the league if they played on the same team.

Skip asked, “They’re thinking about trading for kyrie with what? Are you going to trade LeBron for Kyrie or AD for Kyrie? Because it’s going to be one or the other.”

Shannon answered, Okay, do that. I like LeBron in Brooklyn. LeBron and KD. It’s over. It’d be over.” Skip added, “Well maybe they should do that. Trade them straight up.”

The duo started talking about the trades when Shannon brought up that there was an article about the Lakers considering bringing in Kyrie Irving. Skip first ridiculed the article and then questioned who were the Lakers going to trade if they did choose to bring Kyrie. LeBron or AD? Because those two seem the only options.

If hypothetically LeBron does leave, then it would be Kyrie and Anthony Davis as the big two in the Lakers. Shannon said he wouldn’t mind seeing a team-up of LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

Obviously, this was all hypothetical but one can only imagine how good the two superstars, modern-day greats of the game would team up together.
