WATCH: How DJ Khaled Played a ‘Crucial’ Role in Alex Albon’s Astounding Miami GP Show
Alex Albon enjoyed another top 10 finish season at the inaugural Miami GP. Undoubtedly, the Thai driver got exceptional skills, but fans might not know that DJ Khaled also has a hand in Albon’s Miami result.
The Thai driver helped the struggling Williams to bag points twice this season. Fans and many F1 experts speculate the team’s strategy might be the reason. Some also believed that Albon dying his hair red might have gotten him some fortune this season. But it seems the Thai had another person to get the Miami results.
The American DJ and record producer visited the Miami GP. The inaugural race in the Magic City was no less than a massive carnival where many fans and celebrities came. The paddock was full of A-list stars, and Khaled was one of them.

Further, DJ Khaled walked up to the Williams crew, who were getting Albon’s car prepared on the grid for the race. The American DJ then asked Albon’s team to play the songs of Jay-Z. It seems Khaled’s advice did work, but Albon didn’t confirm whether he was listening to Jay-Z while driving.
The P9 finish in Miami GP didn’t surprise Alex Albon
The Thai driver had a top 10 finish in the Saturday Practice session. But he failed to have a phenomenal qualifying session after issues with the tyre temperatures. So, Albon secured himself P18 for the main race.
But the Williams driver moved up eight positions to finish the race at P10. However, the Alpine driver Fernando Alonso dropped ion positions after receiving a 5-second penalty, leading to Albon’s move up to P9. The 26-year-old is happy with his results in the inaugural Miami race, but he wasn’t surprised with the results as much as he was in the Melbourne race.

Albon shared his reasons for no surprise, “If you look at the whole weekend, I would actually say this is obviously much less surprising than Melbourne.” Albon further reported, “We were in the top 10 for two free practice sessions, and so generally there. It wasn’t low fuel or anything like that, and we were there on pure pace. So to get the P10 is, I feel, where we should have been all weekend.”
