“I Don’t Want to Be in Floyd Mayweather’s Shadow Anymore”- Opponent Don Moore Ahead of Exhibition Bout Atop Burj Al Arab

Floyd Mayweather, with his decades-long resume in the sport, is a widely recognized face in boxing. The 50-0 pugilist will return to boxing on May 14 at the helipad of a hotel in Abu Dhabi. This time he will fight a former sparring partner and retired professional boxer, Don Moore.

Don Moore started training with ‘Money’ in 2012 and found himself a guide in uncle Roger Mayweather. He contributed to Mayweather’s victories in the upcoming years as the latter went up against the likes of Alvarez and Pacquiao. However, Moore demands to be recognized beyond just a sparring partner of ‘Money’.

“I just want to showcase my talent in front of the world, I don’t want to be in Floyd Mayweather’s shadow anymore…He has an 0, I have an 0. I’m a fighter, I’m going to go in there and do what I have to do,” said Moore.

Mayweather has retired from the game multiple times. Since 2017, fans have witnessed the emergence of many elite athletes. However, even after all these years, when Mayweather announces a comeback, it takes the spotlight away from the active stars.

Floyd Mayweather needs no introduction in the world of boxing and beyond. But what about Don Moore? What is the story this man holds?

Like Floyd Mayweather, Don Moore was undefeated throughout his career

Don Moore made his professional debut in the year 1999; three years after Floyd Mayweather did. Standing 5′ 10″ tall, Moore had nineteen professional fights. He won eighteen of his fights and had one drawn. Twelve, that is 63.16% of his wins came by a way of a knockout. He retired in the year 2016 and since then has been inactive. But what does this resume tell the fans about ‘Dangerous’ Don?
