Super Bowl winner and Los Angeles Rams tackle Andrew Whitworth has kept the possibility of unretiring open. Whitworth said he was open to the possibility of unretiring and returning to the Rams for the 2022 season.
Whitworth retired from the Rams after winning the Super Bowl in the 2021 season.
Will Andrew Whitworth be the next Tom Brady?
When questioned on the possibility of his return to the NFL, Whitworth replied, “You never say never, “ leading to speculation that he may consider unretiring and returning to play for the Rams.

Tom Brady unretired from his retirement earlier this year. He will play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as their first-choice QB, for what is possibly his last season in the NFL.
Whitworth‘s vague response could mean that he may also be in half a mind to return after the 2021 season, which was his last.
Why could Whitworth return to the Rams?
Whitworth retired after playing for 16 seasons in the NFL, as the oldest tackle in NFL history. He played 11 seasons for the Cincinnati Bengals and five for the Rams. He was also the oldest offensive lineman to win a Super Bowl (2021 season).

Whitworth’s comments may lead to speculation whether the tackle is serious about the possibility of returning. When he retired in March 2022, after winning the Super Bowl, he looked completely spent.
It seems Tom Brady’s return to play may have sparked the fire in many a recently retired player’s belly to consider unretiring. If Whitworth returns to play, he would earn the new accolade of being the oldest tackle to un-retire and rejoin his old team.
