Former Cleveland wide receiver Jarvis Landry has now switched teams and is quite happy with his decision. Jarvis has signed a 1-year contract with the New Orleans Saints, which happens to be his home team. The athlete started his football career with LSU and, being a Louisiana native, he is more than ready to play for his home team.

New Orleans Saints posted a video on Twitter where Jarvis can be seen saying- “This is special time! As a kid growing up, being from Louisiana, you always want to play for your hometown team. So, it’s a blessing to be here and have this opportunity.”

Landry has played 4 NFL seasons with both Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns respectively, and now he is blessed enough to play for his dream team.

Although the receiver had many offers lined up, he preferred to choose a location that is close to his heart rather than going in for a huge amount. According to Tom Pelissero, Landry’s one-year deal with the saints is worth $6 million.

Jarvis Landry is important to the Saint’s strong offense

Landry said he was able to take a firm decision to join the Saints. The talks with GM Mickey Loomis, Head Coch Dennis Allen, and Quarterback Jameis Winston played a major role in helping him to do the same. This month, another big player from Louisiana, Tyrann Mathieu, joined New Orleans Saints after the Kansas City Chiefs relieved him.

Apart from the 5-times Pro Bowler, Jarvis Landry, the Saints have also gained Chris Olave. They have worked on their offense pretty well this season and will soon expect a promising start from the entire team. Also, Michael Thomas, who is a 3-time Pro Bowler, will return to the side after his ankle injury.
