Kobe Bryant Once Gave a Hilarious Take on Michael Jordan’s “Crazy” Desire to Compete at AnythingNirjhar SharmaEssentiallySports
Kobe Bryant was always the toughest guy on the court. He was dedicated to the art of playing basketball. His workout routines are wildly popular. He was always the guy who was first to report to the practice and last to leave the court. But before Kobe did it, there was Michael. Michael was also famous for his competitiveness. And Kobe once commented on it.
In a resurfaced video, Kobe talked about this one conversation between Michael and him. When asked whether having a camera conversation with MJ was like looking at a mirror, Kobe had a quick response. He said,” No it’s fun it’s fun….. we are really different. it’s crazy.”
He further explained this “He’ll compete with any and everything… I won’t .. I only compete at things I am good at“. Kobe also had another observation, ” He’ll talk basketball all day long no stop and compare … like what would have happened if my 91 against your 03″. When asked by the interviewer what would happen, Kobe said, “ Well, he started the conversation .. Michael said I would have destroyed you”. Kobe then laughingly says what he told Michael “ You know .. I just said listen, remember who you talking to”.

Kobe and Michael – Different sides of the same coin
When Michael Jordan retired, a lot of players were dubbed the next Michael. But it was only Kobe who not only took the mantle and reshaped it with his legacy, too. Kobe became to the next generation of players what Michael was to him. A mid-range assassin who could score at will and could score from anywhere when required. An offensive force so great that the opposite team’s entire plans revolved around stopping him.

They both were lockdown defenders when it mattered the most. Both had a work ethic that was second to none. Kobe may have left us early, but his legacy continues to live on. Mention in the comments below your favorite Kobe memory.
