Shaun White’s Post Retirement Life Is a Huge Party With Nina DobrevMansi JainEssentiallySports

Shaun White is a bona fide snowboarding legend. With a record number of X Games gold (15) and Olympic gold (3) medals by a snowboarder, White retired after the Beijing 2022 Olympics. He is also a professional skateboarder, the only man to win the Summer and Winter X Games in two different sports.

After a history-making career, White enjoys his post-retirement life with his girlfriend, actor Nina Dobrev. Just now, he posted yet another picture of the two of them on vacation in Greece, captioned “Greece nights vs Greece mornings”. In the pictures, we can see the couple partying at night and heading to a new destination in the morning.

Shaun White and Nina Dobrev: A power couple

The snowboarding icon met the actor at a party in 2019, and they reportedly started dating in April 2020. Dobrev made their relationship public by May through an Instagram post. While Dobrev couldn’t support the Olympic champ from the stands in Beijing because of Covid regulations, she was a beacon of encouragement, nonetheless.

After White’s retirement, Dobrev threw him a “Flying Tomato” themed retirement party. And since then, the couple has been off on vacation across the world.

They have already hit Costa Rica back in March, and the couple is currently enjoying their stay in Greece. The two of them regularly feature on each other’s social media accounts where they share snapshots of their lives together. From quirky Halloween parties to romantic birthday celebrations, what’s left for them to check off the bucket list?

White’s last run at the Olympics

The last competition of White’s career was the men’s halfpipe at the Beijing Games, where he placed fourth, just off the podium. His first Olympic gold in the halfpipe was at the 2006 Torino Olympics, and after that, he dominated the headlines every four years.

In Beijing, his second run included a front side double cork 1440 and his signature double McTwist 1260. In his final run, he attempted the double cork 1440 combo but failed to stick the landing and fell. All the snowboarders met him at the bottom and congratulated him. White decided that this would be the final Olympics of his career, as well as, from other tournaments.

With a legacy as grand as his, there is no doubt he has inspired hundreds of snowboarders in the field and will inspire hundreds more.
