‘We Were Big Fans of Michael Jordan Back in the Day’ – Tennis Stars Alexander Zverev and Bob Bryan Wish to Meet the Iconic BasketballerVatsal ShahEssentiallySports
Alexander Zverev has endured a mixed 2022 season thus far. Although having a consistent run across tournaments, the German tennis star has failed to deliver when it has mattered the most. Moreover, he is yet to win a title this season. The former US Open finalist has made it to the finals on two occasions this year, having lost in both of them.
Last week, Zverev was in Rome to participate in the Italian Open. He reached the semifinals of the tournament before losing out to Stefanos Tsitsipas in the last-four clash. In a keenly fought encounter, Tsitsipas prevailed in three sets 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. Recently, some tennis stars, including Zverev, named the famous person they want to meet.
Alexander Zverev wishes to meet Michael Jordan
In a rapid-fire round, tennis stars opened up about the famous person they wish to meet. Answering this, Alexander Zverev said, “Famous person I want to meet, Michael Jordan.” Further, doubles legend, Bob Bryan was of the same opinion as Zverev. He said, “Michael Jordan, yeah, we were big fans of Michael Jordan back in the day, never saw him live. Been in the same room as him but never shook his hand.”
One of the most iconic doubles teams, Bob and Mike Bryan went on to win 16 Grand Slam titles as a team, the most in the Open Era. They retired in August 2020, winning their final match as a team.
Djokovic prevails at the Italian Open
The Serb finally found some joy, winning his first title this season. Yesterday, he defeated Tsitsipas in straight sets to clinch his sixth Italian Open title. In a match lasting just over an hour and a half, Djokovic got the better of his Greece opponent 6-0, 7-6 (5).

The win has come just at the right time for Djokovic, who is looking to win his 21st Grand Slam title. He will be determined to keep his winning momentum going in the French Open that unfolds later this month.
