There are several highlights throughout the NBA season. However, nothing excites the fans like the Dunk Conets during the All-Star weekend. The best leapers in the league come together and compete in an exemplary display of athleticism and creativity. While LeBron James hasn’t competed in the competition, his dream lineup had many fans in shock.

Over the years, the dunk contest has evolved into a showstopper event. Fans adore the competition with explosive athletes mesmerizing and shocking the audience. The crowd and players are all hyped up with players putting on a show for the ages. But when it comes to choosing a dream lineup, it is tough to choose from the wide number of participants throughout the years.

Hence, it seems LeBron James did not necessarily follow that route as he chose himself in his dream dunk contest lineup.

LeBron James picks out dream dunk contest lineup

During his Q&A session on Twitter, James picked out his ream dunk contest lineup. 3 names were a no-brainer as he put in Zach Lavine, Vince Carter, and Dominique Wilkins. These are three of the highlight dunkers in the history of the dunk contest. Zach Lavine is a two-time dunk contest winner and had arguably the best battle with Aaron Gordon. Carter made his mark with one of the most dominant wins in dunk contest history in 2000 and resurrected the contest. As for Wilkins, the Hall of Famer was one of the top scorers in his time and won the contest twice.

But in a controversial choice, LeBron picked himself as the fourth competitor which left fans in shock.

I wouldn’t want to face jordan either king https://t.co/d2JrclMtVl

The King is one of the most gifted athletes the NBA has come across. And for the longest time, fans have wanted to see LeBron soar high in a dunk contest. However, he has never competed. Hence, fans were shocked as he left out some big-time dunkers. Notably, LeBron did not pick out his GOAT competitor, Michale Jordan who won the competition back in 1987 beating Wilkins. In addition, he also left out Aaron Gordon who has the most 50-point dunks in the history of the dunk contest.

With such a competitive list of dunkers in the reserve, LeBron may have to revisit his choices for the dream lineup. However, at the end of the day, it is a contest James himself would like to be a part of. And maybe it is the only way we will ever see LeBron in a dunk contest.
