Fans know UFC color commentator and podcast host Joe Rogan for his unfiltered views and opinions. While some of Rogan’s views may have created controversy, his views have also helped many people. Some time ago, in a viral podcast episode, Rogan had advised his friend and former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub to retire from MMA. Recently, Rogan reflected on that incident.

Speaking to Schaub on the podcast, Rogan said, “I felt like there was almost no other way that you were going to live. I felt like, I felt scared. I have seen too many people…there is a moment where it changes, where they stop being that person and they keep fighting. And you see it…no one steps in, no one stops them.”

He further added, “Things are not good for a lot of these guys. A lot of these guys that have taken punishment for too long. There is no bringing them back man…I was real scared that, that was going to happen to you.”

While Joe Rogan reflected upon these things, He further added his thoughts on Brendan Schaub making a career in various different fields.

Joe Rogan felt Schaub could reflect on other opportunities

Further in the podcast, Rogan revealed to Schaub that he thought the latter simply needed to stop fighting. Rogan said to Schaub that he felt he had many other opportunities available to him apart from fighting.

Rogan further said that people who are completely into fighting rarely have anything apart from fighting and their family. The UFC commentator felt Schaub had other opportunities, as he was hilarious on podcasts and it could go a long way.

Schaub revealed to Rogan that he felt that a lot of fighters after their retirement go into a nutshell. He further added that he was very grateful to god for Joe Rogan and Bryan Callen in his life.

Joe Rogan further said that he apologized back then and even apologizes now for the way he asked Schaub to retire. He told Schaub that he simply felt there was no other way he would listen. Since Schaub was a top 10 Heavyweight, Rogan felt it was a wholly unique identity.
