Actor John Zderko has tragically died after battling cancer
John Zderko, known for his roles in Criminal Minds and The Mentalist, has died after complications with his cancer treatment aged 60.
The actor also starred in TV shows such as 9-1-1: Lone Star, and Bosch: Legacy over the course of his career.
The news was confirmed by his friend and fellow actor Charley Koontz, who told The Hollywood Reporter he died in Los Angeles of complications from his treatment for cancer.
He recently appeared in Bleeker Street film Breaking, alongside John Boyega and the late Michael K. Williams which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
Koontz tweeted: ‘A great friend and an excellent actor gone way too soon.
‘Thank you so much to @THR and @MikeBarnes4 for giving our friend a true Hollywood sendoff.
‘And to @captainblackusa for the great idea. Your name in lights one more time, John. Love you pal. RIP.’
He made his on-screen debut back in 2005, with other TV and film credits including Dark Forrest, Casting The Net and The Player.
The actor grew up across Ohio, Colorado and New Jersey and took acting classes at UCLA after graduating from UC Irvine.
Zderko is survived by his sister, Karen, brother-in-law Steve and nephews Jason and Jeff.
