Gogglebox star Lee Riley has shared two exciting updates with fans, confirming this his co-star Jenny Newby is out of hospital following her surgery, and that the pair will be returning for the next series, starting later this year.

After the pair were missing from recent episodes, sparking concern from fans, Lee had taken to social media to share that Jenny had undergone surgery, and hence was missing from the show and unable to attend the Baftas.

He had assured fans, however, that it was a ‘minor operation’ and Jenny would be fighting fit in no time.

To fans delight, Jenny is back by Lee’s side in a heart-warming clip shared on Twitter.

‘Look who I’ve just bumped into, she’s out of hospital,’ Lee says while Jenny adds: ‘Hi! It’s me! I just want to thank you all for your kind, get-well wishes, they’ve really cheered me up, thank you very much!

‘I’m looking forward to seeing you all in series 20,’ she added.

Lee confirmed: ‘September guys… we’ll be back in September! Have a lovely Summer everybody.’

He captioned the clip: ‘Just a quick message to say all is well with Jenny and thank you for your support and well wishes have a great summer and see you all in September much love Jenny and Lee xx.’

Fans were delighted at the news, with one writing: ‘Can’t wait for September, counting down the days. You make me smile and laugh.’

Another penned: ‘I’m glad all went well with Jenny and she’s feeling better now, look forward to seeing you both in September, you’re my favourite on Gogglebox xx.’

The dynamic duo joined the fourth series of Gogglebox in 2014, having been friends for two decades.

They became inseparable after meeting in Jenny’s pub, where Lee was a regular.

Since then, they’ve been on holiday together and even isolated in Lee’s caravan together during the first lockdown.

Gogglebox airs on Fridays from 9pm on Channel 4.
