Liam Gallagher has revealed both his hips are ‘bashed up’ but he’ll wait until after his Knebworth gigs before getting a double hip replacement.

The 49-year-old Oasis star – who has previously spoken about having arthritis which has affected his hips – joked that he’ll still be doing ‘high kicks like Mick Jagger’ at the concert next month.

Appearing on The Zoe Ball Breakfast show, Liam said: ‘Hips, man, they’re both bashed up, but I just went to get these injections the other day actually, so now I am buzzin’ mate, I’m like Louie Spence…

‘I might go and ruin my career at Knebworth and go and start doing some high kicks like Jagger, and everyone’s going like that, “I want my money back, we only come to see him stand still.” But I’m going to have to have the operation next year maybe, but can’t be getting it done before Knebworth.’

Liam is returning to Knebworth for two gigs on June 3rd – 4th to mark the 25th anniversary of Oasis’ era-defining gigs at the iconic venue.

Speaking about his forthcoming Knebworth show, he continued: ‘I’ll be behaving the first night ’cause me mam’s coming and then the second night I’ll go mental… I mean I say that… you say that, don’t you – “I’m gonna go mental man the second night”. I’ll have a couple of beers and then be like that, “You know what, I’m off to bed!”‘

He was also asked whether he plans to send brother Noel – with whom he has been feuding for over a decade – a birthday card or text for his birthday on Sunday.

‘Nah nah nah. When is it, Sunday?… I’ll have just done Knebworth, bless him, I might give him a shout out, dedicate one of his songs to him. That’ll do his head in won’t it,’ he replied.

The singer previously addressed his hip problem to Mojo magazine, saying: ‘My hips are f**ked… I’ve got arthritis, bad. I went to get it checked and my bones are mashed up.

‘The lady was going: “You might need a hip operation, a replacement” – no way. You’re all right… I think I’d rather just be in pain, which is ridiculous, obviously.

‘I know that – just get them fixed. But it’s also the stigma, saying you’ve had your hips replaced… What’s next?’

The star also recently revealed he’s given up alcohol in the run-up to his gigs to be in the best possible shape for his performance.
